USA Postal Service Suspension - August 2025
ALL USA POSTAGE SERVICES SUSPENDED - 26/08/25
As a result of the recently introduced changes to the import tariff requirements set out in US Executive Order 14324, Australia Post has joined a number of international postal operators to temporarily suspend postal services to the United States (US), effective immediately until further notice.
This decision has been made to ensure compliance with the new US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements. Specifically, the requirement for duties and taxes to be prepaid on all shipments prior to their arrival in the US. This will pose a significant delay in resumption to the services, as we await these systems to become available from international carrier services, and be implemented within our own system, to allow customers to correctly pay all Tariff Requirements prior to our team assembling and dispatching any future orders.
At this stage no timeline has been provided to a return of these services. We will work with all services to attempt to provide any updates where possible.
We do understand this may be frustrating for our US based customers, a frustration which we share. We have always tried to offer affordable, streamline services to our customer base in the US, and we are concerned that the future requirements for sending to the US may not be a feasible service for us to resume in it's current state, unless there are major changes. Unfortunately these issues are completely out of our control, and are a direct result of US Executive Order 14324.
Please understand this is not a choice or decision made by our team, or Australian-based carrier services, but by the implementation of changes by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in accordance with the aforementioned Executive Order.
Regards,
The Team @ Switch Boss
